The Leibniz Institute of Photonics Technology (Leibniz-IPHT) offers the following position in the Research Department Fiber Research and Technology, Work Group Holographic Endoscopy: Student Assistant in a Startup Team (f/m/d) The position is limited from November 15, 2022 to February 15, 2023. There is a possibility of an extension afterwards. The Leibniz-IPHT is a university independent research institute with close connection to the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and member of the Leibniz association. This is an opportunity for a motivated team player (f/m/d) to be part of a high-tech startup in the making. You will join the small and highly motivated team of DeepEn, at the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technologies in Jena. We are preparing the launch of a company, which will produce innovative imaging instruments for neuroscience and medicine. You will support DeepEn’s business development efforts, to maximize its chances of becoming a successful company. The tasks will be highly diverse, which gives you the possibility to make a big difference and gain valuable experiences in the fields of entrepreneurship, deep-tech, and venture capital. Your field of activity: • Support the preparation of the start-ups business and financial plan • Conduct market analysis • Support strategic decision-making through research of business topics (investors, legal, technology, competition) and presentation of results to the team • Create materials for start-up competitions and investor events • Create materials for public relations (Website, Social-Media) • Administrative tasks and data management • Attend start-up related events Your qualification: • Completed undergraduate degree in business administration, industrial engineering, business information systems, finance, or related field • Good academic performance • First work experience through internships or other practical activities during studies • Very good MS Office skills • Very good knowledge of English and German Your knowledge and skills: • Great motivation to work in a highly dynamic start-up team • Interest in entrepreneurship and innovation • Initial experience working in an international team • Clear communication skills (verbal, written, visual) • Strong analytical skills • Interest in deep tech startups (photonics, neuroscience, medicine) • Tolerance and respect for others We offer: • An open welcoming culture as well as a friendly and dedicated team committed to modern science and technology • An interdisciplinary research environment with the goal of translation and application-oriented research Salary: Up to the marginal earnings limit (max. € 520.00).
